Package: cupsys
Version: 1.2.2-1
Severity: important

I am unable to add printers. I tracked the problem down to cups-driverd.
To test, I run cups-driverd like this:

/usr/lib/cups/daemon/cups-driverd list 1 10000 ''

Debug output and strace shows that it reads all the ppd files. Then
it enters an infinite loop. I tried removing the last ppd files by
renaming linuxprinting.org/Xerox to .Xerox. This rename had the
intended effect that cups-driverd no longer scanned the Xerox ppd
files. However, it still entered an infinite loop after Tektronix.

I also tried moving away the whole linuxprinting.org-gs directory.
This had the intended effect that none of the linuxprinting.org-gs
ppd files were scanned. However, cups-driverd still entered an
infinite loop, as before.

This is a very serious problem. Not being able to add printers
makes me look like a fool. ;-)

   [ Kenshi Muto ]
   * PPD transition to /usr/share/ppd is mostly finished.
Now I remove old symlink /usr/share/ppd/cups-transitional-dir and
     /usr/share/cups/cups-included. (closes: #381266, #383291)
   * Update debconf translations:
     - Brazilian Portuguese (closes: #389222)
   * Tried to solve the backend permission problem. CUPS scheduler
uses a permission and owner information of backend program.
     - Install ipp and lpd as mode 0700.
     - Create backend links as hardlink instead of symlink.
