hplip fails to install:

Creating/updating hplip user account...
useradd: invalid numeric argument 'lp'
adduser: `/usr/sbin/useradd -d /var/run/hplip -g lp -s /bin/false -u 107 hplip' returned error code 3. Exiting.
dpkg: error processing hplip (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
