Package: hplip
Version: 0.9.7-4
Severity: important
Running hp-probe finds the networked printer. However, hp-toolbox says
"Device is powered down or unplugged". Printing a test page from the
CUPS interface fails to produce any output and shows the message "open
device failed; will retry in 30 seconds...".
The printer is on, the network is correctly set up, and I made sure the
printer was ready to print before starting hpiod, hpssd and cupsd.
CUPS is also configured with an LPD:// queue for this printer (bypassing
HPLIP). That works properly, suggesting the printer and network are
fine. However, the added features of HPLIP aren't available that way.

Since this turned out to be not a bug in HPLIP, and there was no further
activity in this bug report, I am closing it.
