Sven and Henrique,

I was having this same problem with my psc-2210.

What fixed it for me was to run the HPLIP Toolbox (command line 
hp-toolbox) and print a test page from there first.  Then printing 
from/through CUPS was fine.

Thanks for bringing us this fine upgrade from the old hpoj packages.
