Re: Review of PPD File Structure Specification

A while ago I wrote the PPD File Structure Specification describing how PPD providing packages in Debian should cooperate to form a single database of unique PPDs.

In the meanwhile I have found out a lot more about how the foomatic-db project at linuxprinting.org is structured.

Therefore I have reviewed this specification. It has been clarified in many points and I took into consideration the comments I received before.

It can be found at: http://wiki.debian.org/PpdFileStructureSpecification

I believe adhering to this specification avoids a lot of issues especially for the CUPS "Add Printer" web interface.

With this e-mail I invite everybody involved with this specification for an open discussion on debian-printing mailing list. Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Kind regards,
Pascal De Vuyst
