Hi!

 CS> Hello,

CS> off force localhost. Read the README.Debian file
CS> "Remote Printers and no spool file" and that should fix your problems.

CS> Let me know wether or not this fixes your problem.

I'm not quite sure what you mean... I've never used the
force_localhost directive, and if I turn it on, direct printing is
turned on, but I don't want that, I want to use the local
spool. Without force_localhost, I just get this:

sid:~# lpq
Printer 'sda4_local@localhost' - cannot open connection - No such file or directory
Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol
sid:~#

My printcap entry look like this:

.common:
   :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
   :sh:mx=0:mc=0
   :lpr_bounce
   :af=/var/log/lp-acct:lf=/var/log/lp-errs

sda4|HP Laserjet 5M
:tc=.common
:rm=hp5m-1
:rp=sda4
:if=/etc/magicfilter/ljet4m-filter
