Version: 3.8.15-1
Severity: grave

Hi,

Unstable's lprng has a serious problem with print-queueing. It is talked
about in newsgroups thread msgid <1991Aug1.042048.29740@ccu1.aukuni.ac.nz>

/----------
| The insidious thing is that the bug only takes effect when several
| files sent from the same user *and* host so that they appear one after
| the other in the queue. Since the printer is not used heavily the
| problem was not noticed until several weeks after the patch was applied.
\----------

Same occured at my system. Jobs just disappear like snow when there's
more than one queued job of the same user from the same host.

I installed 3.8.10-1 and the problem was gone.

There's another thing, 3.8.15-1 does not accept:
| $ lpr file.ps
It just sits idle after doing that. With 3.8.15-1 you have to:
| $ cat file.ps | lpr
before it actually pics up the job.

Regards,
Sander.
