Hi,

The cron daemon says this:

Dec 7 06:35:43 localhost lpd: cron.daily found errors, run checkpc for =20
details.

So I run checkpc as root:

Warning - owner/group of '/var/spool/lpd/lp' are 0/0, not 1/7
Warning - permissions of '/var/spool/lpd/lp' are 0755, not 0700

It's in french, but it seems transparent.

Something did, they were wrong.

Something did, this is permission 000!
crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 0 2004-09-19 18:41 /dev/lp0

This is not a lprng bug, something has messed up your file permissions
and lprng is correctly complaining.
