While translating the file lprng, I encountered the following typos, =20
which I thought you might like to eliminate in a future release.

You have a lpd.conf in the old location (/etc/lpd.conf) and the new =20
location
(/etc/lprng/lpd.conf). Since lprng version 3.6.16-1 this file should =20
be only
in /etc/lprng, please check both files and remove /etc/lpd.conf

"Since" is only used with the present perfect tense: I have <verb>, =20
e.g. "I have been in Australia since 1975." It's used to describe the =20=

length of that period of time.

To say that something has happened _from_ a certain point in time, =20
which we don't specify, we use "from".

So:

"=46rom lprng version 3.6.16-1 this file should only be
in /etc/lprng, so please check both files and remove /etc/lpd.conf"

(This also applies to other strings in the same file.)

For full RFC1179 compliance you need to make these programs setuid root.
This is mainly so they can create a socket with a low port number. =20
The low
port number may be important if you have network printers or have =20
adjusted /
etc/lprng/lpd.perms to restrict access to non-privledged ports. For the
typical printer connected locally to parallel port (and many other) =20
scenario
you can leave these programs non setuid root.

The word "privilege" has a French origin, so doesn't follow the =20
English pattern of "short vowel + dge" (badge, edge, ridge, lodge, =20
judge).

Since you are talking about "many other" scenarios, you need to say =20
that after talking about the singular scenario.

You need to say "a parallel port", because there is only one, and you =20=

haven't mentioned it before.

So:

"... non-privileged ports. For the
typical printer connected locally to a parallel port scenario (and =20
many others),
you can leave these programs non-setuid-root."
