Hi,

I have just created updated installation images for Debian Ports.
Thank you very much for these new images, I didn't expect to get this update so early. So that's excellent news.

The images can be found in [1]. Please test!

Last week, I installed the powerpc image on MacMini and PowerBook G4 with success, choosing LXDE environment.

I wanted to test and use them more before sending a feedback.

By default, there is no Internet browser in LXDE .There is an icon but when I click on it, an error message says that the desktop entry is invalid (`/usr/share/applications/lxde-x-www-browser.desktop`).

First, I ran "apt update and got:

# apt update
Atteint :1 http://deb.debian.org/debian-ports sid InRelease
Atteint :2 http://deb.debian.org/debian-ports unreleased InRelease
Notice: Some sources can be modernized. Run 'apt modernize-sources' to do so.

So, I ran "apt modernize-sources".

After that, updating gave:

# LANG=en apt update
Hit:1 http://deb.debian.org/debian-ports sid InRelease
Hit:2 http://deb.debian.org/debian-ports unreleased InRelease
All packages are up to date.
Warning: Skipping acquire of configured file 'main/source/Sources' as repository 'http://deb.debian.org/debian-ports sid InRelease' does not seem to provide it (sources.list entry misspelt?)

On the application side:

- Applications that successfully installed: netsurf-gtk, abiword, ffmpeg-gui, meld, cppcheck-gui
- Applications that failed to install: vlc, libreoffice, gimp, scummvm, caja

About these failures, that is due to unresolved dependencies, for example with caja:

# sudo apt install caja
Solving dependencies... Error!
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

Unsatisfied dependencies:
gvfs : Depends: gvfs-common (= 1.57.1-1) but it is not going to be installed         Depends: gvfs-daemons (< 1.57.1-1.1~) but it is not going to be installed         Depends: gvfs-daemons (>= 1.57.1-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: gvfs-libs (= 1.57.1-1) but it is not going to be installed
Error: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Error: The following information from --solver 3.0 may provide additional context:
Unable to satisfy dependencies. Reached two conflicting decisions:
   1. gvfs:powerpc is selected for install because:
      1. caja:powerpc=1.26.3-1+b2 is selected for install
      2. caja:powerpc Depends gvfs
   2. gvfs:powerpc Depends gvfs-common (= 1.57.1-1)
but none of the choices are installable:
      [no choices]

I have not tried the ppc64 image yet, I will try in the coming days on the PowerMac G5.
