Re: Updated installation images for Debian Ports (2025-03-16)

I voted on https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/-/merge_requests/1431 and https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/-/merge_requests/143

If other people vote, perhaps it will help?

Yesterday I had the idea to modify the problematic patch [1] so that it applies

I have opened two merge requests now:

- https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/-/merge_requests/1432

This should fix the installer on powerpc and ppc64.

Great! Count on me to test the next image on various Apple machines.

  The installer is still
broken on ppc64el when installing on PowerKVM, but it seems that neither
Debian's kernel maintainers nor IBM developers upstream care about this
problem enough to actually fix it.

Hum ... annoying, but after all, if nobody uses it, at least let's start making powerpc and power64 installers work again.
