Hi Adrian,
i've tested the image for ppc64 on powermac G5, it has the same problem 
installing the bootloader.

Temporarily to solve the problem, thanks to the suggestions found in 
this mailing list, i've prepared a guide and a script to complete the 
process of installation of Grub.
