Re: Audio output for PowerMac G5
On my G4 Powerbook, I have to add snd-aoa-i2sbus to /etc/modules and reboot (you can do "sudo modprobe snd-aoa-i2sbus" to load it without rebooting). This enables the system to see my soundcard, and from then on it's a matter of getting alsa and/or pulseaudio to unmute themselves (with alsamixer and pavucontrol, respectively).
Let us know if adding the snd-aoa-i2sbus module works on a G5.
Regards,
Dan

Hi Rick,
I'm in the same boat with
a powerbook G4; no sound cards found.
I found this a couple of weeks ago but I
haven't give it a try yet.

I'm a musician so I might
give it a try this week too.

Jose.

I'd like to use to help Hanno Zulla test his new
"Sonic Pi" software on bigendian hardware.

was able to use this machine with iTunes when it was running
MacOS-X, so there is audio hardware in there somewhere.
