Re: Debian 8.2 on Pegasos II G4 - Installation working, but no boot image in folder boot

Hello,

8.2 + mkvmlinuz fix is working now. I am able to boot to my desktop. :-)
A bit slow, but running.

Hello,

I made now following steps:

1. Installing Debian 8.2 on /dev/sdb7 using ext4 and a boot on /dev/sda1 using ext3.
2. No mkvmlinuz  files in boot.
3. Booting recovery console
4. apt-get install --reinstall mkvmlinuz
5. Editing using nano following files /etc/kernel/postinst.d/mkvmlinuz & /etc/kernel/postrm.d/mkvmlinuz
adding this line: echo >&2
6. apt-get install --reinstall linux-image-3.16.0-4-powerpc -> installation is working fine, vmkimage is generated in boot.
7. Trying to boot, Pegasos stop directly after loading the kernel.

do you have an idea howto fix the marwell 1G ethernet ?

No clue. I only found:

https://redmine.blare-ids.org/projects/kblare/repository/revisions/6f4a7f4183bdbd02741dcd8edbd10b8628acc5d5

It seems the mv643xx_eth would be incomplete and missing the
`release()` function but that is too low level for me. You may want to
ask upstream directly or fill a bug report to src:linux directly.
