Re: wanted: old G5 hardware for use on the ppc64 port

I can say with Debian Wheezy 7.8 absolutly no problem on
Quad G5 with Nvidia 7800gtx 512mb of Ram.
The only problem is with Ati RadeonHD cards...
Didnt have mesa working with RadeonHD 6570 2gb and with 4650 512mb
everything work but in software resterized mode.

I test some other distros and
On Ubuntu Mate works the 4650hd (with strange mouse bug) but dont work
the 7800gtx.

With Jessie No Radeon and No Nvidia ... i have only the console runnning.

I suggest you to use some yaboot kernel options like
"Linux video=radeonfb:off radeon.modeset=0"
or
"Linux video=offb:off nouveau.modeset=1"
