Yes, I've been using KMS on my PowerBook ever since I fixed it to work
on it. However, beware that the code necessary for sleep to work hasn't
been ported from radeonfb to KMS yet.

Can you provide the full dmesg, or at least the output of

dmesg|grep -e drm -e radeon

IIRC the above message may appear even if radeonfb prevents KMS from
really being active.
