Re: PowerBook G4 has video problems when booted

Shawn,

If you're using yaboot, you can edit /etc/yaboot.conf to append something like "video=radeonfb" or "video=atyfb" to your boot arguments. read the man page (could be man 5 yaboot.conf on Ubuntu?) Three warnings apply:

(i) make a backup. after editing, run ` ybin -t ' to test your new config, then run ` ybin ' to actually make the change if everything works out fine.

(ii) you're more likely to get help on this list if you install debian, because ubuntu is NOT debian

(iii) you're much more likely to get help that works if you install debian, because although Ubuntu is based on debian, it is NOT debian. Some features appear similar in the same way that English appears similar to Swedish. Blindly using advice intended for a debian system might break an Ubuntu system.

Peter.
