Funny, you call it a problem and I call it normal. This is all I've
known when installing Debian on my iBook. Except, in my case I didn't
get 'a nice big' 800x600 screen, I got a 640x480 screen that I could
just barely see enough to login and select a terminal. Anyways, to fix
it I do:
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
I basically just accept all the defaults and then when it configures
the screen I select 'medium' mode 'I think' and then select
1024x768@60. Restart X and you're good to go.
Next problem?
