PB G4, sound and speaker beeps

        Hi!

 I have a problem with my sound on my PB G4 system.  Or rather, a quite
specific one, because sound works, I can listen to music and stuff.

 Only, I can't get any of those pcspkr beeps, like printf "\a".  I have
tried to load the pcspkr module, tried with several others, like
snd-powerpc beep_enable=yes, to no avail - though I have to admit for
the latter test I didn't unload the snd_aoa_fabric_layout module which
is giving me music support.

 Any hints on that would be greatful, because I rather would need system
beeps to get working again because I'm responsible for the "beep"
package, and don't want to test it all the time on a different system
that I usually work on; with the added benefit of helping the
/universal/ approach of Debian.  ;)
