You can find out what's set in the kernel. Something like:

$ zgrep GHME /proc/config.gz 
CONFIG_HIGHMEM=y
CONFIG_HIGHMEM_START=0xfe000000
# CONFIG_DEBUG_HIGHMEM is not set

or:

$ grep GHME /boot/config-<kernel-version>
