It's working perfectly for me, including volume adjustment and
speaker/headphone autodetection. I'm using stock unstable, with these
modules loaded automatically (I didn't configure it specially):

% lsmod | egrep 'snd|sound'
snd_powermac 48188 0
snd_aoa_codec_toonie 3492 2
snd_aoa_fabric_layout 14056 5
snd_aoa 20864 2 snd_aoa_codec_toonie,snd_aoa_fabric_layout
snd_aoa_i2sbus 24228 1
snd_pcm_oss 52032 0
snd_pcm 91396 4 snd_powermac,snd_aoa_i2sbus,snd_pcm_oss
snd_page_alloc 11304 1 snd_pcm
snd_mixer_oss 20704 1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_seq_oss 40084 0
snd_seq_midi 9792 0
snd_rawmidi 28992 1 snd_seq_midi
snd_seq_midi_event 8160 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi
snd_seq 60456 5 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_timer 26500 3 snd_pcm,snd_seq
snd_seq_device 9708 4 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq
snd 65908 21 snd_powermac,snd_aoa_codec_toonie,snd_aoa_fabric_layout,snd_aoa,snd_aoa_i2sbus,snd_pcm_oss,snd_pcm,snd_mixer_oss,snd_seq_oss,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq,snd_timer,snd_seq_device
soundcore 11204 1 snd
snd_aoa_soundbus 8004 2 snd_aoa_fabric_layout,snd_aoa_i2sbus
