4 Mb uncompressed. :

  -rw-r--r--  1 root root 4392155 2006-09-29 16:31 vmlinux-2.6.18-1-powerpc

but then we also have :

  -rw-r--r--  1 root root 3091496 2006-09-13 18:03 vmlinux-2.6.17-2-powerpc-miboot

Which once compressed fits on a miboot floppy.

Same here, I think the problem is the ramdisk, which is indeed 5mb compressed,
but only because initramfs-tools insists in putting world+dog on the ramdisk.
Using modules=dep or yaird will solve this and create a smaller ramdisk.
