The advantage of opening an alioth project is that altough you need DDs to
control the packages and upload them (control since the DD take the
responsability of the upload), non DD can participate. All they need is open
an alioth account and participate. Especially if you are in the NM queue, your
participation would be most welcome, and the experience in a co-maintained
environment will be helpful to you in the NM process too probably.
