FYI: GCC-4.0 compiles successfully 2.6.12-rc6 on ppc/TitaniumIV

This message just to encourage folks to actually use the software.
Nobody can fix it if the issues don't show up ..

<http://news.com.com/Torvalds+Put+Linux+to+the+test/2100-7344_3-5646975.html>

Something like:

tar xzvf linux-2.6.11.tar.gz
cd linux-2.6.11/
bzip2 -cd  /path/to/patch-2.6.12-rc6.bz2 | patch -p1
cp /boot/someconfig .
make oldconfig
fakeroot make-kpkg clean
time MAKEFLAGS="CC=gcc-4.0"  fakeroot make-kpkg --append-to-version=-somename --revision +anothername kernel_image

And I'm writing this email on 2.6.12-rc6, compiled by GCC-4.0. Only
the usual issue so far: vlock-ed console still seems to prevent sleep
(see thread on this list from some time ago). The rest of it just
seems to work mostly fine ...

Kudos to the kernel maintainers. :)

Best Regards
  Wolfgang
