2.6.11.6 + swsusp + wlan (PowerBook6,1)
I finally, to my great delight, got around to getting swsusp working
on my PowerBook G4 12" 867MHz. This alone merits a party and a round
of drinks if I'm ever in the neighborhood of anyone involved.
In the process of getting it going I googled up a posting to this list
where someone asked about the combination of swsusp and linux-wlan-ng,
but I can't now find it again. Can someone point me in the right
direction? My problem is that after resuming from a suspend, with a
prism2 usb device, I can't get back my wlan interface, so I have to
reboot anyway to get networking.
I've always had this problem with my prism2 usb device (an Actiontec
802UI3) -- I can't have it plugged in while booting: I have to plug it
in (or unplug/replug) in order for the modules to load properly. On
previous kernels I could unplug/replug and rmmod/modprobe again if
whatever was mis-initialized the first go-round.
Now, on this 2.6.11.6 kernel, I only get one shot at doing this right
-- subsequent rmmod/insmod lead to an "implementation failure" error
when I try to enable my wlan device with wlanctl-ng.
Is there something I can do to allow myself to keep using wlan after a resume?
I may need to simply rebuild my kernel with different options, but
what I have now *seems* fine and I'm hoping that since I've seen a
subject line that may indicate a similar problem, someone may have an
answer for me.
Thanks,
O.
