I have a WallStreet/PDQ PowerBook a few months older than this one and
I don't think it came with a hardware test disk. (the OldWorlds
didn't).  I also didn't realize you could do yaboot on these -- on
mine I boot OS9 then BootX into linux. I think Quik is the only
non-MacOS boot option on mine.

anyway, back to the dead Mac -- try a full reset. Look next to the ADB
port for a reminder. Older PowerBooks had a reset button, mine has a
special key sequence -- Ctrl+Shift+Fn+power and your mac will make a
very unusual sound.

Maybe your internal PRAM battery died (not the removable one). This is
just a guess. I think my battery is almost dead and it still boots OK
but it loses everything when I unplug it for more than a few minutes.

Since you're using yaboot you must have done something to reset Open
Firmware, so I think the hard reset will clear all that and at best
you'll have to reconfigure OF.
