What about trying to install free-java-sdk? Does it uses sablevm which may
give you slightly different results when you try to use your applications.
It is sufficient for some small Java applications that I use (say, ppower4,
for producing presentations with LaTeX).
And the newest Java package from blackdown (which was released recently)
doesn't work with my banking system anyway (Banco do Brasil) on my i686
desktop.
For this reason, I don't bother using *real* Java, but I can understand if
you need something that classpath doesn't provide yet.
