Try those options, see if they work for you. (Also, in the future, you
should mention which PowerBook G3 you have - there are actually 5 of
them, and they're all fairly different - some are OldWorld, some are
NewWorld, some have USB, some have ADB, some have SCSI, one has
FireWire...)

At the moment my configfiles look like yours, (/etc/default/pcmcia and
/etc/pcmcia/config.opts that is.)
the pb-g3 i have is the 500mhz version, (pismo), with firewire and usb.
and the socket refuse to work.
with /etc/init.d/pcmcia start i still get that "no sockets found"-error,
and i get this when i modprobe yenta_socket;
