Swithed disk into aonother system, now yaboot refueses to boot
Hello List!
I was running a G4/400 (first generation with 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet and
16MB ATI Rage Pro) with two disks, one for MOSX one for linux.
Now I got a G4/466 (second genaration with 10/100/1000MBit/s Ethernet
and 16MB ATI Rage Pro) and I put the disk that linux resides on form
the old 400 to this new 466.
I did not change any jumpers or anything. This disk was jumpered as a
slave.
Now I jumped into OpenFirmware and set the boot device to
"ultra1:2,\\:tbxi" and typed boot.
The first stage boot-loader with selections for Linux, MacOSX or CDROM
came up but after the timeout when the second bootstage should load I
get this message:
"Loading second stage bootstrape... can´t OPEN:
/pci@f2000000/pci-bridge@d/mac-io@7/ata-4@1f000/disk@1:2,\\yaboot"
and the system jumps back into open firmware. :-)
AFAIK this looks like the different G4s use a different
OpenFirmware-path for the second drive.
So here is the question: How can I boot into my Linux to run ybin again?
I tried with the debian 3.0 boot-cd but I was not able to write a new
boot-config.
Thanks in advanced, bye
Christoph
