Install woody or sarge on IBM 7025-F50
Hello,
i am getting really tiered installing Debian(Woody or Sarge) on
this little Bastard Box called 7025-F50....
Right now i got Debian Sarge installer booting...
How this work !!
I create an iso cd with the content of
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/sarge/main/installer-powerpc/current/images/powerpc/cdrom/ in it...
also i create a /etc/ dir with yaboot.conf at the root of the cd an
i put yaboot from
ftp://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/powerpc/current/sarge-powerpc-netinst.iso at the
root of the cd.
Then i boot the Box ... Pressing F8 to get the OF Prompt
then make a boot cdrom:,\yaboot
right now i can boot the 2.4/vmlinux from directory above...
because the 2.6 vmlinux does not work with the symbios scsi
controller in the box.
Ok the debian-installer boot, i have to cahnge the cd (put
sarge-powerpc-netinst.iso) in the drive....
Everything works fine the Partitioner came up (not really a good
thing i missed cfdisk) .. and the system begin a Base system
installation. Until the Error the bootloader was not configured
correct (during kernel-image-2.4.27-pmac install) ...
Ok i skiped to installing without bootloader but the same thing it
can't install the kernel-image
Any hints ??
I am really tired with this Box...
