kernel-panics: vdr and video-buf, something special on ppc?

Hello!

I know this is not the right list, but I wanted to now if some else uses vdr? vdr is a video-disk-recorder that uses dvb-devices to record dvb-signal from satellite, cable or terrestical.

Now the problem:
vdr uses v4l(2) to grab the TV-picture. On x86 when you try to grab - vdr crashes, but there is a solution. I had to remove the video-buf module, run depmod and reboot and the problem was gone. Looks like x86 has a second video-buf module or something similar that is used instead. When I try to grab on ppc the kernel panics! If I try to remove the video-buf module vdr or bttv do not work any more. :-(

Now my question (that is why I asked it here):
How can I get around this problem on ppc?
Where can I find the right person that looks into this problem?
When I look into video-buf.c I find kraxel@bytesex.org as developer.

Hope someone knows how to fix this. (As always - i am not a programmer)

Bye,
Christoph
