Not a problem report but partial success:

With a Radeon 9600 M10 (RV350; NP) on a Powerbook G4, and your last patch,
suspend to disk works fine, if I unload a bunch of modules before
suspending (uhci, ehci, uhci1394, therm_adt746x seem to matter most).

Plain Xfree86-x.org, DRI disabled.
