I think the Apple Airport Extreme card is the only card you can put into that slot. However, you can grab a PCMCIA wireless card (I believe PCMCIA works under Linux; never tried it though), or grab a USB dongle.I do not want to be rude but, where do you put the PCMCIA in a iBook/PowerBook G4?
For the newest hardware, I believe only the 15" and 17" PowerBooks have PCMCIA, the G4 iBooks do not.
From the Technical specs from apple.com..."One PC Card/CardBus slot supporting one Type I or Type II card (15-inch and 17-inch models)"
http://www.apple.com/powerbook/specs.htmlYou can still find a few new but recently discontinued G3 iBooks #M8758LL/A that use the original Airport card.
