I'm getting gnarly kernel panics with 2.6.6 during boot up.

Self-compiled or Debian package?

It's a pre-compiled Debian package (kernel-image-2.6.6-powerpc)

Looks like you are trying to use an initrd kernel built without CONFIG_DEVFS.

Yes, the installer told me to check my bootloader documentation before trying to boot into the new kernel because it was initrd. I did that, and added the line initrd=/initrd.img to the relevant yaboot.conf entry. Did I forget to do something?

Thanks,
Alex
