Uncompressed vmlinux (4.2M) copied to /boot/Linux Kernels

What did I miss? Is there a trouble shooting guide somewhere?

has you copied the kernel in the system folder of hfs partition
renamed in vmlinux?

I've got the same problem with my PowerMac 9600, booting using BootX,
except that it doesn't initialize either the video console (IMS Twin
Turbo) or serial console, so I get no kernel messages, just a blank
stare. : /

Any suggestions?

Just a shot in the dark :-)

I have this problem whenever I try to boot 2.4 directly into Linux--I haven't tried with 2.6 just yet. I work around it by first booting MacOS, and then use the BootX app to lauch Linux. It's annoying, but linux is stable enough that I only have to do it every 200 days or so when the power goes out.
