Yesterday I was working happily with OOo, but after the update today I
get:
wolfi@halley:~ $ openoffice
OpenOffice.org for Debian - see
/usr/share/doc/openoffice.org/README.Debian.gz
running openoffice.org setup...
version already installed
ExitCode: 17
setup failed.. abort
---- Please read /usr/share/doc/openoffice.org/README.Debian.gz for
known problems -----
wolfi@halley:~ $

Doing the first thing this file suggests leads to
wolfi@halley:~ $ rm ~/.sversionrc ; rm -r ~/.openoffice ; openoffice
rm: remove write-protected regular file `/home/wolfi/.openoffice/1.1.0/THIRDPARTYLICENSEREADME.html'? y
OpenOffice.org for Debian - see /usr/share/doc/openoffice.org/README.Debian.gz
running openoffice.org setup...
Setup did not complete properly - cannot find an entry in ~/.sversionrc

Which is Bug #231689.

I looked at ~/.sversionrc, which was newly created and added the entry
OpenOffice.org 1.1.1=file:///home/wolfi/.openoffice/1.1.1

Now OOo start telling me on the commandline
Starting configuration import into user data ..
.. importing layer file:///tmp/oooLocale.XXXXr91szVconfigimport.bin -
Unhandled exception caught in main: "no service object raising singleton
/singletons/com.sun.star.configuration.backend.theDefaultBackend"

And opens a small window saying
"A general error occured whila accessing your central configuration.
Staroffice will continue the startup using your locallytored personal
settings."

After that I can use the programme as normal (I just opened the letter I
wrote yesterday and it worked)

I filed this as a bug against the openoffice.org-Package some minutes
ago.

HTH,

Wolfi
