Re: VGA-out not working any longer on old TiBook 400
Hi-
I got the patch an applied it to my 2.4.23-pre5-ben0 kernel, I got this
warnings/errors:
aty128fb.c: In function `aty128_set_crtc2':
aty128fb.c:823: warning: suggest parentheses around arithmetic in
operand of |
aty128fb.c:824: warning: suggest parentheses around arithmetic in
operand of |
aty128fb.c: In function `aty128_set_pll2':
aty128fb.c:1212: error: syntax error before "aty_pll_wait_readupdate"
I was able to fix it (almost a missing ";") and some "()" to avoid the
warnings. It actually changed the colorfull noise on the CRT and I now
get a picture which is quite close the the correct one but it has
distorsions (running X), the image is shown double/overlapping with an
X-offset of about 20% and quickly vertical moving noise (sync wrong???).
I tried 8/16/24/32 bpp, its always the same symptom while running X, the
console looks OK.
However if I boot my old vmlinux-2.4.20-pre9-ben0 all works fine, and
I'm quite sure the vmlinux-2.4.20-ben10 starts to be broken with the
ATI-M3.
Thanks so far -- I would really be happy if the official kernel tree
could be fixed but a real dualhead support would a awesome...
