VGA-out problems on a Powerbook
Dear guys,
I'm having some problems with the vga-out tricky stuff. I'm running
debian unstable on a powerbook 1ghz, ati 9000.
It is not completely clear to me which are the steps to follow to have
the vga-out working.
What I did is to go to http://people.debian.org/~daenzer/dri-trunk-sid/
and get the following packages:
xserver-xfree86-dri-trunk_2003.08.07-1_powerpc.deb
xlibmesa-gl1-dri-trunk_2003.08.07-1_powerpc.deb
drm-trunk-module-src_2003.08.07-1_all.deb
I installed them. Then I exctracted the drm-tarball and I went to
/usr/src/linux but when I ran make-kpkg modules-image, I obtain errors:
dpkg-gencontrol: error: source paragraph in control info file is missing
Source line
dh_gencontrol: command returned error code 65280
make[2]: *** [binary-modules] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/modules/drm-trunk'
make[1]: *** [kdist_image] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/modules/drm-trunk'
Module /usr/src/modules/drm-trunk failed.
Moreover following the suggestions of Jamie Wilkinson
(http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2003/debian-powerpc-200308/msg00780.html)
I tried to run xrandr but without any success:
$ xrandr
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
maybe I missed the main point.....what's wrong?
Thanx
Fra
