Freeze at boot with a Radeon 7000 PCI

Title: Message
Hi,

I recently got a Radeon 7000 (PCI -- mac edition). But when I tried to boot with it the display just freezes,
giving me either a frozen "Mac" bootup screen, or a xmon report, depending on the kernel.

I tried different combinations of kernel / BootX options, with the following results :
- 2.4.23-pre5-ben0, with default config, and 'video=radeonfb' freezes in xmon:

and just hangs there...
It doesn't boot with "no video driver" or "force video settings"

- I tried different other kernels (2.4.21-ben0, standard 2.4.18), but I now realize that FB_RADEON wasn't set
in these...

- The only kernel that boots is the standard 'linux.bin' image from the Woody CD, which is a 2.2.20 kernel

Does the xmon output above give any hints on what is happening ?

Any hint is appreciated,
Simon
