Yes, exactly. I got screen corruption.

Even without that feature I get a bit of a problem
with the top few rows pixels. Right at this moment
I have a black and purple horizontal line, about 2
pixels wide, about 2 pixels down from the top. If I
enable "Virtual 1600 1088" I get lots of corruption.

This is in 32-bit color mode. MacOS 9.x does fine.

XFree86 doesn't even know I have a digital flat panel:

(--) R128(0): Chipset: "ATI Rage 128 Pro PF (AGP)" (ChipID = 0x5046)
(--) R128(0): Linear framebuffer at 0x94000000
(--) R128(0): MMIO registers at 0x90000000
(--) R128(0): BIOS at 0x90020000
(--) R128(0): VideoRAM: 16384 kByte (64-bit SDR SGRAM 1:1)
(**) R128(0): Using external CRT for display
(WW) R128(0): Video BIOS not detected in PCI space!
(WW) R128(0): Attempting to read Video BIOS from legacy ISA space!
(WW) R128(0): Video BIOS not found!
(WW) R128(0): Can't determine panel dimensions, and none specified.
        Disabling programming of FP registers.

Scaling would be wonderful. I'm not even asking for something
hard like 640x480. 800x512 is pixel doubling and row doubling.
Odd resolutions would be nice for DVDs though.

I suppose that using system memory for 3d is another way
to do things. ATI at least claimed that 16 MB of video RAM
was enough for 1600x1024, 24-bit color, with 3d.
