Shouldn't be any trouble. You don't mount the CDs.
I just point XMMS to /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 (your device may vary) and it just
works
dmesg | grep -i sound
to make sure your sound stuff is set up in the kernel
if not, try modprobing the appropriate module (of course)
linux also doesn't work with country music, so you might as well throw that
out.
