iBook modem
hi all,
first of all excuse me for my poor english :-)
I have an iBook2 with dual usb and firewire, cfr.
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/hardware/Developer_Notes/Macintosh_CPUs-G3/ibook15Oct01/
my modem not work.
I see in the kernel log:
Jan 14 12:11:50 nano kernel: PowerMac Z8530 serial driver version 2.0
Jan 14 12:11:50 nano kernel: tty00 at 0xc986b020 (irq = 22) is a Z8530 ESCC
Jan 14 12:11:50 nano kernel: tty01 at 0xc9872000 (irq = 23) is a Z8530 ESCC
but /dev/ttyS0 not respond to ATI command (i tried minicom and kppp)
I think my modem is a usb modem, but i dont see any modem in /proc/bus/usb:
nano:~# cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

I tried also hcfusbmodem modules from
http://www.mbsi.ca/cnxtlindrv/index.html but the module fail to load:
insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.18-newpmac/misc/hcfusbosspec.o: init_module: No such device
moreover in /proc exist the directory
/proc/device-tree/pci\@f2000000/mac-io/i2c/i2c-modem/
can anyone help me? I don't know if my modem is a serial or usb modem... :-(
vale,
Antonio
