This is normal, those 4 files would normally be on an HFS partition.

I think the kernel you are using can't see the hard drive. The kernels
available in Debian right now don't work on the most recent G4's. The
kernel tree has been fixed, I believe since 2.4.23-benh, but search the list 
for a way to download a precompiled kernel.
