ALSA is working ? Really ? Even with headphone plug in/out automute and
sleep mode support ?

did you also set 
CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE=y

interestingly I remember having to have set CONFIG_FB_RADEON_I2C=y
to get it compile.
