Re: IMS TT video issues

hello angus,

I am using Debian/Woody on a powermac 9600/350 with an IMS TwinTurbo graphics adapter and with kernel image 2.2.20 + xserver version 4.1.0.1

some hints that maybe help you

1. for the 2.2 kernel on a powermac 9600/350 only the first 3 PCI-Slots are visible for Debian and a update to 2.4.. kernel will solve the problem.

1.1. give Open Firmware the information in wich PCI-Slot your GFX-Adapter are housing.

here the adresses

PCI-SLOT - Adress
--------------------
A1 - @D
F2 - @F
B1 - @E
C1 - @F
D2 - @D
E2 - @E

so for my TwinTurbo on the first PCI-Slot (A1) the output-device in Open Firmware looks like this

/bandit@F2000000/IMS,tt128mb8A@D

1.3. for xserver the fbdev-driver is the only one who works for me (but slow as hell). the imstt-driver are only correct when in 8-Bit-Mode 15/16/24 bit depth yields in "psychedelic" color shifts

1.4. some links that can help you

1.5. if you get the IMS TwinTurbo working under the imsttfb-driver with xserver let me know ;-))

have fun
bye fab
