I ended up doing a net install with only two floppies (hfs-boot and root).
Very convenient :-).

Unfortunately the installer did not set up OF booting with quik funtionally
and I have no way to boot into the newly installed system since there is
apparently no way to set the kernel arguments (need root=/dev/hda8 in my
case) when using the hfs-boot floppy. :-(
