Sorry for mixing up the bug report but I am new to your site and urgently
would like to go on with debian.

I think I did the configuration right as I tried at leas 30 times to adjust
here and there. Please see my printout of the file XF86Config-4 below.

With lspci I found the Name and the place of the video controller:

"00:11.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc.  3D Rage LT-G
215LG (rev80)"

The HEX decimal number is identical to 0:17:0.

Is it possible, that the controller isn't supported by this kernel?
