ripping tracks from a audio-cd
hi!
im trying to rip oggs or mp3s out of audio cds, unfortunately
without any success. i have one of the november 2002 ibooks
here.
when i do this:
cdparanoia -B -- "-3"
i get this:
/dev/cdrom exists but isn't accessible. By default,
cdparanoia stops searching for an accessible drive here.
Consider using -sv to force a more complete autosense
of the machine.
More information about /dev/cdrom:
Checking /dev/cdrom for cdrom...
Testing /dev/cdrom for cooked ioctl() interface
/dev/scd0 is not a cooked ioctl CDROM.
Testing /dev/cdrom for SCSI interface
No generic SCSI device found to match CDROM device
/dev/scd0
when i try the same thing, but as root, it tells me this:
009: CDROM reporting illegal table of contents
Unable to open disc.
im 100% sure that its not a copy-protected audio cd. i also
tried it with several other audio cds and always got the same
error. ripping the audio cd on another debian machine (x86) works
perfectly.
the permissions:
lrwxrwxrwx /dev/cdrom -> /dev/sr0
lrwxrwxrwx /dev/sr0 -> scd0
brw-rwx--- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 2002-03-14 10:11 /dev/scd0
my user is in the group cdrom though..
any ideas what could be the problem?
thanks alot!
ciao!
