Yep, I've noticed the same thing.  PPC patches come out the same day (or
within a few hours).  In really rare cases, the patch may be delayed a
day or two (like kghostview recently, but it may have just been my
mirror...).  Kudos to all the ppc port package maintainers. 

You get a little bit of 'security through obscurity' by using ppc as
your webserver too...most exploits that script kiddiez use have x86
assembler only.  So the exploits segfault your server when it tries to
run instructions that aren't for it, but at least some 12 year-old
doesn't have root on your system.
