I think there are various java suites already in debian, there are
various java compilers (you can even use gcc), and i suppose at least
one virtual machine, and an almost uptodate library suite, don't
remember the name of all of them right now though (but apt-cache search
java may help you).
Don't know if they also provide a plugin though.
